There are two lingams kept in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple which are said to be built by Sita, one called Ramalingam and the other lingam was brought by Hanuman from Mount Kailash, called Vishwalingam. Rameshwaram has 50 holy wells (kunds), and 22 of these are inside the temple. The water of these wells is believed to possess medicinal properties.
There are a total of 64 pilgrimages around it on Rameswaram island of Tamil Nadu state of India.

Mythology of Dhanushkodi
Below content is copied from: https://www.travelride.in/blog/dhanushkodi
As per the legends of the most sacred Hindu text that is Ramayana, Dhanushkodi is the exact place where Lord Rama, Lord Lakshman, and Lord Hanuman with their Vanar army constructed a bridge to Lanka. This bridge was constructed to rescue goddess Sita, who was the wife of Lord Rama and was in the captivity of Ravana. This Bridge was referred to as Ram Setu. After the war Got finished and Lord Rama won, they crowned Vibhishana - brother of Ravana as the king of Sri Lanka. Later, Vibhishana asked Lord Rama to destroy this Bridge and by accepting his request Lord Rama used his bow and to break this Bridge and hence this place was named Dhanushkodi which also means “end of the bow”.

New Pamban bridge, India's first vertical lift sea bridge, is 84% complete
The new bridge will help trains to operate at higher speeds, carry more weight and increase the volume of traffic to Rameswaram and Dhanushkodi temples. The bridge is set to replace the iconic Pamban bridge - India's first sea bridge which opened in 1914. While the current bridge has the 'Scherzer' rolling lift technology in which the bridge opens up horizontally, to let ships pass through, the new bridge will lift vertically upwards remaining parallel to the deck. It will be done using sensors at each end.

Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Memorial
Spread over 2.11 acres of land, the Abdul Kalam Memorial was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2017. The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) initiated the construction of the memorial to pay tribute to India’s missile man. Construction of the memorial began on the burial ground where Dr Kalam was laid to rest in 2015. The memorial consists of four halls that reflect various facets of Dr Kalam’s life, including the Pokhran atomic test. There are replicas of rockets, missiles and paintings all of which highlight his association with the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
