🕉Understanding Remedial Measures:

9th house is our Sanchitha Karma (Accumulated past merits), 5th house is our Prarabdha Karma (Fructifying karma) and 10th house is our Kriyamana or Agaami Karma the actions of the present.

An afflicted bhava or planet has benefics especially Jup in 5th or 9th house from that bhava or planet it can be remedied. If malefics are situated in 5th or 9th from a bhava or planet especially Sat Rahu Ketu that house cannot be remedied. If both malefics and benefics are there in its trine it can be partially remedied. 

Remedial Measures is a huge topic. This article is an introduction to remedial measures prescribed by Astrological Classics and Ancient Rishis.

Dhatu Moola Jeeva Rasi’s and Remedies:

1.Dhatu: Metals, Minerals and objects

Signs: Aries, Can, Lib, Cap

Remedy: Wearing Metal Bracelets, Gems or donating them. Giving away lands.

2.Moola: Vegetables, fruits, herbs, trees.

Remedy: Donating Fruits Vegetables or wearing roots or watering the planetary tree.

Remedy: Remedy should involve living beings.

🌟Bhavas and Remedies: 

Lagna: Planets afflicted in lagna is assuaged by chanting Surya mantras and Gayathri mantra or the kavacha mantra of the lagna lord and its Devatha and Prathadhidevatha.

2nd house: Planets afflicted in the 2nd are remedied by chanting Mantras, Sweet speech or offering foods connected to the planet.

3rd house: Planets afflicted in the 3rd are assuaged by doing service and Pranayama and receiving right counsel.

4th house: Planets afflicted in the 4th are remedied by taking medicinal baths and bathing in holy rivers.  Mother blessings is important to protect from 4th house affliction.

5th house: Planets afflicted in the 5th are remedied with Santana Gopala Mantra and havan of the afflicted planet, severe afflictions needs Putrakamesti Yagya. If Rahu is involved Sarpa shanthi is also necessary.

6th house: Planets afflicted in the 6th are remedied by chanting Dhanvantri Moola Mantra, doing Shatru samhara pooja Aghora , Chandi homa , donating weapons or sharp instruments.

7th house: Planets afflicted in the 7th are remedied by doing devi pooja, chanting Aikya makta sooktham and performing Tirukalyanam.

8th house: Planets afflicted in the 8th are remedied with Mritunjaya mantra, Ayush Sooktham Kalabhairva pooja and Rudram japa.

9th house: Planets afflicted in the 9th are remedied by spiritual methods like visiting the sthala dedicated to the afflicted planet. Tila homa is another effective remedy. Visits to Kasi Rameshwara is very important.

10th house: Planets afflicted in the 10th are remedied by doing benevolent acts on the afflicting planets day.

11th house: Planets afflicted in the 5th are remedied by Sankirtan or Bhajans.

12th house: Planets afflicted in the 12th house is remedied through donations and Medicinal baths.  Bathing in holy rivers like Ganges or in a holy Pushkarani or Triveni sangamam are effective remedies.

The planets are remedied by appeasing them directly and worshiping they Adidevata and Prathadhidevata .

Airy signs: Mantras are predominantly used.

Fiery signs: Homa and lighting lamps.

Earthy signs: is through worship, Dana and Nivedana . 

Watery signs: through abishekam and medicinal baths.

If Dhatu rasi is involved the planets objects are used either for donation or wearing.

Moola rasis are involved anna dhan or pooja with the concerned planets Moola articles are used for worship.

🌋Doshas  Saap or curses and Remedial Measures:

1.Sarpa Dosha:

Sarpa Samskaram , Sarpa bali , Sarpashanthi ,Sarpa prathista is performed to remove the ill effects of Sarpa dosha.  Sarpa Prathima dana and abishiken to snake idols is an effective remedy to remove Sarpa dosha in the chart. Visiting Kukke Subramaniya(Mangalore)  , Mannarshala( allepey) ,Kalahasthi is another effective remedy.

2.. Pitru Dosha:

Tila Homa , Yajur Veda Surya Namskara and Graha shanthi in Kasi and Gaya.

🌧Medicinal Bath:

Most jyothish classics give herbal bath as an effective planetary remedy especially if the planet is afflicted in a watery sign or Venus signs.

Ilaichi (Cardamom), Honey, Poppy seeds, Saffron, Lotus, Roali (Rice turmeric alum with tilak powder).
