Significance
Parama Ekadashi holds a special significance among Hindus. This Ekadashi comes after a long gap of 3 years during Adhik Mas. Parama Ekadashi is also known as Purushottama Kamala Ekadashi. This time it is more special as it is falling during Shravana month. This is the great time of worshipping Hari Har. All the Vaishnavas observe strict fast on this auspicious day and offer prayers to Lord Vishnu with great devotion and dedication. Ekadashi fats is considered one of the most pious and sacred fast in which Lord Vishnu is worshipped who is the preserver of this universe. It is believed that devotees who worship Lord Vishnu, get blessed with all the worldly pleasures, happiness, prosperity and at last they go to Vaikunth Dham. By observing Ekadashi fast, people can get rid of their past bad Karmas which they have committed knowingly or unknowingly.
๐น ๐ฟ Parama Ekadashi : Puja Rituals
๐น ๐ฟ 1. Wake up early in the morning, take a bath before commencing the puja rituals.
2. Clean the puja room and place a idol of Lord Vishnu along with Shree Yantra.
3. Light a diya with desi ghee and decorate the idol with flowers and clothes.
4. Light incense sticks, offer homemade sweets, 5 fruits, Tulsi Patra and Panchamrit.
5. Worship the lord by reciting "Vishnu Sahastranaam" and "Shree Hari Stotram".
6. Spend the whole day by chanting this Mantra - "Om Namo Bhagvate Vasudevaye" .
7. Fast will be broken on Dwadashi Tithi, which means the next day during Parana time.
8. Devotees who are unable to observe strict fast, can break their fast by having sattvik food such as - Makhana Kheer, fruits or other milk products.
