Poornima - Purn (complete) + Arunima (light of Sun)

Poornima - Purn (complete) + Arunima (light of Sun)

We take 7th house as the house of desire.
Speaking of Moon, whatever is there in the opposite house i.e. 7th house, that becomes the objective of our mind, our biggest longing and desire  in life.

Sun, the planet stands for our atma, dharma and righteousness in our karma. How we mature spiritually will be defined by the dignity of Sun in our horoscopes.

Today, on Poornima, the full moon night, Sun will be sitting opposition to Moon. This opposition principle makes the moon obsessed with desire for dharma and spirituality. Blessed are the souls born on a full moon, Poornima as it endows them with highest of the wealth, spiritual richness.

Considering Sun as Shiva (5th house) and Moon as Gauri (4th house), there is no better teacher than Shiva and there is no better student than Devi Gauri. 5th house being 2nd from 4th, Sun becomes the resource of Moon and gives moon the knowledge which is represented by the gyan-ganga flowing from HIS head.

Today, on the Poornima, the Moon (Devi Gauri) sits in front of Sun (Shiva) and receives, embodies and reflects the spirituality of Shiva. It is like Shiva and Shakti are in a state of meditation together as the gyan-ganga flows from Shiva to Gauri. There is no better tithi than Poornima to gain knowledge from Shiva himself and hence the importance of full moon meditation.
